Where am I?

Deja Vu, part two!

The more observent readers of this blog might recall this image from an earlier post….

Or is it?

It made me stop and take a second look, thinking I was back in Lincolnshire for a moment I snapped away. I had promised myself to return to Chambers Farm throughout the seson to see how the image would change with the conditions and now, I fear the same will apply to this one.
I was here last week, it’s a view from a fell road on the way to a place called Haverthwaite in the Southern Lakes. I liked it because it seemed to offer hope of things to come, a pre-starter to mountains, valleys, rivers and tarns and all that the area has to offer.

I am really looking forward to getting back into walking around the lakes and fells, wildlife is plentiful here as is fresh air and tranquility. Bring it on…..

    Miles,
At first glance I though it was the same shot you took of Chambers Woods but a little lighter. Upon closer inspection, is it a dry wall that I see?
A lovely photo and what an amazing likeness.

Well, although I have no clue where Chambers Woods is, I loved comparing the two photos. This one has the rock wall (is that what you’re referring to, Elsie?). Both scenes are very enchanting. Is that a walking staff leaning against the rock wall? Someone out for a trek in the country?

Perfect way to start my day!

    Elsie/Melissa,
The area is littered with dry stone walls, it gives the countryside so much character.

    Miles,
Autumn & Spring give us such vivid colours. It’s amazing that we always crave the summertime despite the beauty of the more inclement months, just because we can’t go outside in a t-shirt. I’m probably more guilty of that that anyone here.

In terms of stonework, I promise I will send you pics of the local architecture here in Scotland. It’s just so removed from what we’re used to in England. I just need a day without rain so I can take the camera outside. :)

I’d be happy to pass along a couple of photos of some very unusual stonework my son and I came across last summer while on a major backpacking trip in the high country. I’m almost sure no one can guess what it is.

    Yes, that’s a challenge. :-)

    Ooooh I love a challenge!

C’mon, Melissa, give it your best shot. :)
I’m sure Miles wouldn’t mind if you hotlink your photos.

Hey, if it’s just the image of John Denver on a piece of toast then I’m not converting from atheism. :)
