Life has a habit of taking things away without asking :(. This week at Kew Gardens: Wootton Bassett - a town and people endlessly turning out to honour the return of the fallen; Family Gatherings - always a joy and appreciated; Visiting and friends in general - we are lucky to have them and indeed to meet new ones; Longer daytime hours - we should be in line with continental hours; Snowdrops and crocusses emerging - harbingers of spring :) At the rubbish tip: Politics - a lot of rhetoric that shows no evidence of planning and addressing real issues; Economic downturn - having to pay for the greed of others Winter - frost should have killed enough bugs by now :( Anne Miles,
