The Week in Review
The high’s and low’s for yours truly….
The Sunshine State:
1. My sponsored Child survived the Burma Cyclone
2. Blog award-recognition from a great writer
3. New desktop PC-awesome graphics
4. Bhut Jolokia plants have produced fruit-severe case of egg on face if they hadn’t.
5. Home grown melons for breakfast-sweet, delicious and rewarding.
6. Writing a blog post every day for a year-time to slow down now
7. Passing my MOT-hence the new PC!
8. Pain free weight lifting-I’ve missed you!
9. Not being in debt-as an old sage once told me “If you can’t afford it you shouldn’t have it” No credit crunch here
10. Being given a free case of Carlsberg-cheers!
The English Weather:
1. Getting ripped off with naga jolokia seeds-they’re birds eye-shame on you.
2. Rain, wind and shorter daylight hours-crap conditions for the chilli grower
3. Gordon Brown and Labour-the party for the working man and woman-sod off.
4. New Motorhead album-sort it out Lemmy. I’ll still go to see them in Manchester despite it.
5. New Nikon D700-Where’s the new 5D Mark 2, Canon?
6. Niger seeds for goldfinches self-seeding on my lawn-nightmare
7. Being asked if bacon is gluten free. I should be allowed to shoot people on this basis.
8. Free Carlsberg beer with too much gas inside-don’t worry, I complained about it

three weddings my luck just ran out!
At least one of them is not yours ! spare a thought for those 3 guys whose life is about to end this weekend

Miles,
There should be ‘ribbons in the sky’ for points 1 and 2 of the positive list, as Stevie Wonder might say
As for the rest, I remember catering for weddings, the long hours and hard work. Still, all is not lost, word is your brother is a dab hand at catering…. you could call him in to help out

Miles,
If you should take the ‘Rod’ option, better guard the cake and the bridesmaids…. collectively it’s a heady mix of trouble
Better still I’ll look after the cake and you look after the bridesmaids
