The Tesco Asparagus Farce

The debate continues…

Remember a post I wrote about the madness of selling Peruvian asparagus in English supermarkets? Well, Tesco are still at it and they’ve been criticised by the UK newspaper The Daily Mail for it. Good to see it being brought back in the spotlight, why they’re doing it at the height of the English asparagus season is beyond me.

Check the story out at dailymail.co.uk, you may recognise one of the commentators :)

    OK,
let’s, for the sake of argument, say Tesco care nothing at all about . . .
this country, their customers, farmers, home produce, taste, freshness, quality, public relations etc etc

It’s got to be cheaper grown here in season rather than flying it in !

If I didn’t already think they’re crap I’d boycott them

    All supermarkets blow !
You can’t buy low fat Lincolnshire sausages in Sainsbury’s they stock Cumberland ones here - no doubt Lincolnshire ones in Cumberland

I might stop buying food - it’s a rip off and a waste of money !
