The Sound of a Canon EOS 1D Mark 111
Putting the smile back into serious photography…
When Canon released the EOS 1D Mark 111 professional DSLR camera it was hailed as a revolution, the fastest camera on the planet and a must have for any serious/pro sports or wildlife photographer. Despite early problems with its autofocus which seems to have been sorted it created a proverbial storm with its introduction.
This camera is all about speed, ten frames per second with all the mod cons that a pro series Canon comes with. I shall spare you the details in this post because this is for general amusement…
Meet Chuck Westfall of Canon USA, he wants to demonstrate how fast this camera really is. If you are into photography get ready, if you’re not watch it and wait for the end bit, Chuck’s got something to be smug about….

Miles,
He is smug isn’t he….. I adopt a similar look when I’ve managed to clear a sewer blockage
On the culinary front… sorry to drag you back to the kitchen…. what did you think of last night’s Marco Pierre White’s tv show?

Cid,
Thought it was typical ITV to be honest. Sick of the ‘Great British’ hypocrisy, all of these chefs cook French food and only go on about British food because it’s the current trend. Marco has real prescence on television and they could have made more of that.
A shame really.

Miles,
I was really disappointed in the show and thought Marco could do so much better …. the shots of him stopping the car to pat a donkey etc were a waste of time. Watching him produce that crispy pork belly was the best bit. I know he has influenced a lot chefs and that you have said good things about him but I couldn’t warm to him at all. Perhaps the next few episodes will change my mind.
Mind you he did say that he was fond of fat pigs and fat women so perhaps I am being a little harsh

Cid,
I know what you mean, with Marco what you see is what you get unlike some others I could mention. I just don’t see the point of the programme, the BBC have beaten them to it with the subject on more than one occasion.
