The Price of a DVD

How much are we prepared to spend?

A bit off the wall for me but stick with it! Having long given up on buying movies on dvd because of the lack of any decent new releases combined with the rip off cost I have turned my attention to more cerebral offerings.

Following a bit of research via the web there are plenty of great dvd’s to be had, particularly (as in my case) for photography. For £20 I have bought a great guide to the Canon EOS system which I shall watch time and again. Compare this to a run of the mill movie for the same price and there’s not much competition.

The last movie I bought was a particularly painfull experience as I discovered my brother had bought a copy for a £1 less. This somewhat soured my enjoyment of the film and I vowed revenge. Not being one to fritter his money away on reckless dvd purchases it is hard to catch him off guard, until yesterday that is.

Such was his desire to watch the new Matt Damon film that he spent a whopping £13 on a copy. It is with some considerable pleasure that I can now tell him via cyberspace how much I paid for my copy……….

    Dear Brother
I should have thought you’d learned your lesson Grasshopper !

Your desire to gloat brought about your crushing downfall in Operation Casino Royale

I should have thought alarm bells would have rung for you when I told you what I had paid …
I suppose it hinges on the definition of paid !

I actualy paid nothing for it !
I have a Virgin Addict card which gathers monetary points to the value of 10% of everything you purchase.
As the chain has been taken over (and I’ve had these points for ages) and rebranded Zavvi, or something equally inspiring, I felt I had to get rid of them lest they become redundant.

So I look forward to watching The Bourne Ultimatum tonight, totally free of charge.

I hope your order all worked OK, you’ve not had to wait in for it or go to the PO to collect it, indeed that it turned up at all and that it works.
