The New Singer in Led Zeppelin….
Thr replacement for Robert Plant….
Now I’ve done enough posts on possible Led Zeppelin reunions and wouldn’t have entertained this one were it not for a very good reason. You see, according to Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame and someone who shares Robert Plant’s record label the new singer and replacement for Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin is…..Me!!!!!
Well, sort of. We share the same name-no, not Phil Collins!!! Somebody called Myles Kennedy, no I’ve never heard of him either but never mind. Apparently he plays for a group called Alter Bridge and he’s a very good frontman. I’m not giving this much credibility, it’s more likely Snider’s attempt to get some publicity, God knows he needs it. I think Page and Jones will go ahead and tour with Jason Bonham on drums, I’d be interested to know who you would chose as Plant’s replacement. that’s if you care sufficiently. Personally, I don’t because it’s Plant or bust for me.
Anyway, if there’s no blog posts next week then you know I’ve got the call. Time to get those tight jeans on and perm my hair

Wow !How incredibly disrepectful ,the concept of going out as ZEP without PLANT.I’M sorry but certain things shouldn’t be. What’s next? STONES tour without JAGGER, or Maybe AEROSMITH without TYLER, or maybe another SABBATH tour without OZZY or DIO? THeHAMMER OF THE GODS should FALL on PAGEY’S GREY HEAD and knock some sense into him. I’d be willing to bet that JOHN HENRY BONHAM would be very proud of his son,and maybe a bit peeved at PAGE and JONES for going out as LED ZEPPELIN without PERCY, uh, I mean PLANT.I’ve been singing LED-ZEPPELIN for 28 YEARS and have had many dreams of filling in for PLANT(as in my dreams)he was ill or lost his voice.If there were one opportunity I wouldn’t pass up,it would be just a chance to sing for ZEPPELIN at show or audition.THIS does contradict!! someone other than ROBERT,but like you miles,I think they should give me a shot.I have watched the bootleg DVD of the 02 ARENA show,and although he claims to have given everything he had,Plant bailed out on a few prominent vocal lines and some songs dont sound right tuned down.I really cant imagine him doing multiple dates with ZEP at 60 yrs old.His voice sounded great to me at KRAUSS/PLANT SHOW IN Connecticut 6/4/08,but as a vocalist I realize that the ZEP songs ARE a bit more demanding on the CHORDS than harmonizing with that BEAUTIFUL Alison KRAUSS.As I’ve written in prior posts PLEASE DON’T TOUR LED ZEPPELIN let us remember you as you were.THE BEST DAMN ROCK BAND EVER! go ahead with your views alan, but if the original memebers of led zeppelin want to tour with the son of the late jonh bonham, then let them do it without plant if he doesn’t wan’t to, to me plant is abandoning them, not them leaving him behind
