The Heavy

Best new British band for 2009….

Just come across this damm fine band from Bath, England called The Heavy. Jonathan Ross played this new single on his radio show and I was struck by its raw edge. I know nothing about them other than this is a very cool song, the album ‘The House that Dirt Built’ is out next week….

Note: The album has been released and it’s on its way to me for less than eight quid. Bargain. Cashback. Back of the net as we say in these parts

    Thanks for this. . .

Sounds like The Blues, Rock and Ska got together and produced the new Eric Burdon and the Animals. . . I like it!

They are west-country boys - from Noid.

    Laura,
Great isn’t it? A bit James Brown but that’s no bad thing. I’ve been looking for something new to get into for ages. One week today and I’m off to see Gary Moore in concert, the consumate guitarist in my book.

I was going to say it was rubbish before even listening but I have to say it’s not half as bad as it might have been

Bad time to impress me because I’m listening to UFO as I type this so . . .
    Cheers

    Miles,
Thanks for the link. Fun video (run Red, run), and super bass. Will see if it’s available on iTunes.

I am rockin’ (no, not in my chair, thank you) with it.
