I see quite a few serious photographers when I'm out-and-about but nevre see any Nikon cameras - it's always Canon

Yes mate, should have made that clearer. It's 2010 onwards...think Canon have edged it in terms of business but Nikon have the edge with the cudos of best pro camera and pro lens. I think you can take it as read that Canon have done a better job in the entry to mid range level and it will be interesting to see how Nikon respond. They do not at this moment have anything which competes with the 7D and I reckon that has to be high on their list of priorities, don't you?

it's an interesting list but I wonder if it is only the latest products though ?
I'm especially looking at the lenses !
Good as Sigma and Tamron are I'd question their 17-70 being the 'Best Lens' full stop !
