The Art of Drink
Vintage drink advertising posters…
There are some truly wonderful examples of period artwork in relation to the drinks industry, an engaging way of portraying the glamour of dining out from the thirties to the fifties in particular and in stark contrast to the laddish angle so many took in the nineties and noughties.
What I wanted to do was to look at the drinks service aspect, as a boy I fondly recall the pictures (particularly abroad) of larger than life, ruddy nosed waiters with big moustaches and even bigger stomachs carrying huge trays of drinks and I kind of miss that.
So here are some lovely pieces of advertising artwork for the drinks and restaurant industry.

a really classy selection and a great choice of artwork .
But that first one, is pure sophistication . hat, gloves , bling, *Sigh* ….. I wish …..

I too love the first one. Very Grace Kelly (although I do believe she was fond of more than just the one drink!)
