New kale seedlings are up and fingers crossed will make it this time. Butternut squash seeds have germinated and look strong..... of course that's no assurance here if I forget to water them or if that heatwave returns. I haven't even factored in the slug threat. Think I'll stick a pot of beer in to play safe. Cid Miles,

As for the seeds you have to sow them in the autumn, they need a cold winter to germinate properly and a shady area is best. I never did any good with it to be honest. Miles Cid,
