Dave,
I too miss those days but we have to move on before our waistline does. I hear what you are saying about pubs, many of our old fashioned ones are being replaced with big, brash horrors for alcho-pop swigging teenagers hell bent on fighting and vomiting afterwards. Sad but true.

Great news for you. It may not be long before you are able to taste Batemans again. We are presently talking to an importer in the States.
Beer is so much better for you than your present choice!

I have had Batemans, unfortunately I don’t know if it was during my beer swilling youth or on my beer swilling trips to London. I used to love bitters, and have sadly wandered away from beer to the more potent stuff. Bourbon is my drink of choice now, that and red wine - but I miss my beer drinking days. I was younger, dumber, and slimmer, but infinitely more fun. I want to love beer again - I just don’t know if I am able. If I see Batemans I will gladly buy some - being a beer drinker in NY is miserable. If you are not at a pub the cost is outrageous. Stella Artois (piss) sells for $12 / six pack, and the pubs all offer the same brews. Sad.
