Oh!....

Only just found out that the band has had a falling out with the Cover artist Joe Petagno.
Joe said he won't be donig any more artwork for the band which is a damm shame i think.

Wasn't that mad about the Motorizer cover.

Anyway.....Happy new year to one and all....looking forward to the new Motorhead cd 2010.

Hey Miles...Pete, Richard or anyone.

I think this thread may of gone a little cold but on the off chance I'm wondering if I may get a little help.

Basically to cut a long story short, at my great age of 41 ( mental age 14) I'm starting over with a new career....so I'm back in school...or University as it's called these days.

This long academic road ahead is throwing lots of assignments at me.
One such brief I'm working on at the moment focuses on research......of which the subject is my choice.

I wanted to keep this interesting for myself so I've chosen the world of Motorhead to explore. I first heard Motorhead on the Friday rock show in 1983 I think it was.....the song was Capricorn which I still love to this day. It took another 3 years to see them live , that was at the Monsters of Rock Festival 1986. Freezing cold day as I recall ( well, it was the summer) but I loved Motorheads set..in fact I've just give it a listen from the two disc ROCK AND ROLL cd....they cut out the firework incident from the recording though.....Lemmy was a tad pissed off as I recall......so I've seen the band a hell of allot from then onwards, apart from a blip in the mid nineties ( deeply sorry, but I still bought the records)

Anyways...
All I wanted to know....from anybody... is a little personal insight into how you were introduced to Motorhead.
Basic stuff like favourite record, which record did you buy first, favourite line -up, favourite gig, how old were you when you saw them...how old are you now ;-).....and any little oddball experience you might of had relating to the band.

I'd appreciate any feedback at all...one comment alone would be of value..

Thanks very Much.

Peter,
Great to hear from you again, I'm delighted with the response this post has received, it's had some of my biggest viewing stats to date. They are back, no doubt about that and in February they're back in the studio so I'll blog about that in due course.
Get that tattoo done mate!
Thanks for your participation, it's really appreciated.
Best wishes

Hi al,

Thats a surprise, those two tracks they played at Bournmouth I have never heard them play live.
I think thats the tour over with now isnt it? I can safely say that with what I have seen for myself on this tour, and with all the brilliant comments on this site that Motorhead are playing as well as ever. Maybe even better?
I might well get the Motorhead tattoo done that I have toyed with over the years. I have never done it because I believed that if I did, the band would pack in playing and I would be lumbered with it for the rest of my life.
However, on the evidence of this tour I needn't worry, Lemmy and Co have at least another decade in them.
Thanks for setting this site up Miles, I've enjoyed this last few weeks big time.

Tim,
Welcome to the site and thanks for leaving a comment, glad you and your daughter enjoyed the gig.
Looks like they've been mixing the set list up a bit.
Kind regards

Thanks for the track list. Just seen the boys at Bournemouth last night. Mmm... loud and managed to keep out of the mosh although my daughter was in there for four hours!

Two tracks not on your list:

Cradle to the Grave
Shoot "Em Down

Not sure if they did Going to Brazil or The Thousand Names of God

Hello Again all..
My apologies for not getting back in touch before now.
The Leeds gig was, as Bri says, top notch.
We didn't get Dirty Love....but I think we got Another Perfect Day, (or was I dreaming)
I was certainly drunk, following umpteen steins of lager all day in the German market just nearby.
I was deaf and desperately hungover all next day.
Girlschool were good, but I don't really get the Damned, though I put up with them and cheered in all the right strategic moments.
Motorhead were enormous, superb, Lemmy looked 20 years younger than his years and the whole night was a blast.
My wife (who I was forced into taking remember) actually enjoyed it and says she would go again. To be fair to her she wore all black, an old Motorhead T-shirt plus leathers...and she got suitably beered up with me all afternoon.
The Overkill encore was a crusher ....superbly delivered...and the light-show made it extra special.
I cannot wait to see them again ....I love that band so much, there is nothing like them on this Earth, and there never can be again.
Come on guys, tell me what you experienced on your gig dates.
Its great to hear about it.....if I can't see them, at least I can hear about them ...does that make me a Motor-Voyeur?
