Morgan Car Photographs

Celebrating the beauty of a truly unique car…

I have been fortunate enough to get the opportunity to photograph some forty Morgan sports cars this weekend, hopefully the weather will hold and I will be able to get some good shots. I arrived a little too late tonight to see them before their hoods were put on to protect them overnight but tomorrow is another day.

Morgan make stunning cars, uniquely British they represent a time sadly passed but despite that the car has continued its production into the 21st century….

Morgan Car

Morgan Sports Car

From the small English town of Malvern in Worcester the company was founded by the legendary HFS Morgan who built a three wheeled car (not a Robin Reliant!) in 1909 which boasted the first ever independant front suspension. Some three years later the company was formed and over the years has forged a special relationship with owners of the cars who regularly hold meetings and weekend get togethers to celebrate the car’s history.
Do not be put off by their PG Wodehouse looks, they are a serious sports car and have proved their worth on the sports track here in England as well as America and Le Mans where, in 1962 it won the great race and then proceeded to drive back from France to England via normal country roads, how many performance cars could do that?

Hopefully I shall post some more pictures over the weekend. My thanks to the owners of these beautiful cars who allow passers by and car enthusiasts to enjoy seeing such hard to find cars. I have spoken to a number of the owners over the past couple of years and they are very friendly and genuinely passionate about their cars.

    Absolute classics !
We should cherish our heritage, indeed even revel in it.
Would I be right in thinking that Morgan is, more-or-less, the only British car manufacturer now ?

Wow…check those gorgeous cars out! You can tell that somebody has a spot in a garage where they go to wash, wax, polish and otherwise keep their machines pristine… maybe forget about everything else for a while. It’s a beautiful thing. I think it’s a guy thing.

Hey did you just use the word passionate?

    Miles,
The dedication people have to restore and maintain classic/vintage vehicles just has to be admired. They are preserving heritage, like Rod said, and it’s great to see them thundering down country lanes.
