Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW User Review

Award winning camera bag from Lowepro

Just taken delivery of the Lowepro Slingshot 200 Aw camera bag. Lowepro make top of the range camera bags and all though there are cheaper makes to be had the Lowepro design and build quality is worth paying extra for.

My main carrying case is a Lowepro Computrekker Plus AW which houses all of my lenses, laptop and back up equipment for time spent away from home, more about that in a later review.

The reason for the slingshot is that I wanted something smaller and lighter for occasions when only a couple of lenses are required and for ease of use during walking, travelling etc. The other main reason for buying this particular bag is in its unique swivel action which allows the bag to be swung around to the front of the body for fast and easy access to the camera without having to remove the bag.

Better suited for mid-range zooms and smaller it’s not ideal for my 100-400mm but there are ways and means around it if you persevere with the velcrose! The bag will comfortably house three or four lenses along with a DSLR body and a couple of accessories, there is a seperate pouch for memory cards and the camera’s LCD screen is protected by a micro fiber cloth.

A couple of decent size pockets (for keeping your sandwich as the salesman told me!) finish this award winning bag off.

Inner dimensions: 8.7 L x 5.9 w x 11.8 H inches

    Miles,
Interesting read, how things have changed since I was in to Photography, in those days it was a 35mm camera, the largest lens your pocket could stand, a very cumbersome and awkward tripod, that never seemed to do what you wanted it to and a very large aluminium carrying case to pack it all in.

Did you find the cheapest online or did you locate a high street shop which sells Lowepro Slingshots ?

Thanks for helping us find out more information and for a genuine user review

    SC,
Those were the days! that said, even with the advent of digital you can still fill your house full of extra equipment-there’s always something else you really must have! :)

    Rod,
I bought the bag from Jessops which is unusual for me as they are more expensive than online retailers. The advantage of them though is that could see inside the bag and try it on for size so to speak.
Had I been fortunate enough to come across a review like the one above I would have saved the car parking ticket and bought online. :)

    Miles,
    All very impressive.
Not like me, I have just my little Digital Canon camera and I just point and click :)

    Christine,
Nothing wrong with a point and shoot if it captures a moment which is important to you. That and the fact you could buy a car with the money you’ve saved!
