Linwood Warren in May

Seasonal changes at Linwood Warren Project

The last time I had a day off which was either late April or the begining of May, I forget when through general exhaustion I returned to Linwood Warren with my brother. I’ve entitled in May so we’ll leave it at that, either way I went there and enjoyed it!

I’d wanted to return from the moment I left the place. My brother and I went in the depths of Winter when the landscape was submerged in a Doctor Zhivago winter film set and we both wanted to make a point of returning throughout the year to see how the landscape changed with the seasons.

We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours there, it is an easy but interesting walk and although it was still relatively early on in the year it showed great signs of promise for the summer months. Somewhat overcast at times as the photograph will show but when the sun did break through the whole area was bathed in bright, warm sunshine which lit the surrounding fields and brought the sound of birdsong from the trees.
This place truly is a haven of tranquility and I feel fortunate that it is situated hafway between where we both live.

    Miles,
it’s some spot and that’s a fact - I suspect it has a lot to give to the educated eye in tems of flora and fauna as well.
Nice to that dogs are banned.
That’s a great shot as well

    Rod,
I must say I’m pleased there is somewhere to go and watch wildlife without the interruption of dogs. There should be some places to go undisturbed, most dog owners are understanding but too often the peace is shattered by constant shouting and whistling. It’s put me off Chambers Wood and that’s a real pity.
