Lemmy-The Movie
Motorhead’s Front Man is the star of a new film…
Lemmy Kilmister, legendary singer/bass player and founder of rock band Motorhead is to be the subject of a film about his life and music.
The title and release date is not yet finalised but it should be out in early 2009. It features behind the scenes interviews and backstage footage as well as interviews with other rock stars such as Steve Vai, Alice Cooper and Slash.
I imagine this will appeal to many music fans, not just from the heavy metal genre, Lemmy is a very funny and clever man with an incredible lifestory. As living the life of a rock star goes, well, he wrote the book on it. In the meantime be sure to book your tickets for the forthcoming Motorhead and Saxon tour.
Staying with all things rock music look out for a new ’supergroup’ for 2009 called ‘Chickenfoot’. Not the greatest name for a band but the musicians can certainly play; Sammy Hagar (ex Van Halen) Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony (ex Van Halen) and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
According to Mr. Hagar when you hear the music “you will think it’s Led Zeppelin because it’s that good”. Umm, talk about setting yourself up for a fall!

great scoop, I had no idea.
That’s something I’ll be watching.
As to Chickenfoot, all those musicians are not as good as they or their reputations would have us believe.
All overrated so they may well indeed sound like Led Zep

Rod,
I too was never a fan of Hagar’s self-procclaimed legend, especially with VH. I know you are not the world’s greatest fan of Page and Plant but even you would have to rate them above Dokken or worse,Hanoi Rocks and the awful Motley Crue and worst of all, ever-Kiss!!!

Rod,
Will agree to disagree on that one, though you’ll never convince me that Crue were better than Zeppelin.

I am embarrassed to be American when people mention Motley Crue.
I don’t think I would go see Sammy Hagar if he was playing in my living room.
I did go see the Van Halen reunion tour at Madison Square Garden last fall - amazing - haven’t been that f’ed up since college.

Dave,
Thanks for that, especially about Motley Crue
Motorhead are playing the Download Festival in England this weekend so I’ll be interested to see what set they end up doing.
Good to hear from you again.
