Led Zeppelin to Tour in 2009 Without Robert Plant

Led Zeppelin audition for a new singer

Further to a recent post about Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones recording new material together it appears that lead singer Robert Plant is to be offered an ultimatum by the band. Jason Bonham, son of Zeppelin’s late drummer John Bonham has been joining them in rehearsal’s together with a number of vocalists ready to replace Plant. So far Robert Plant has refused to entertain any ideas of a reunion tour because of his current work with American country singer Alison Krauss but it seems that the other band members have grown tired of waiting for him to make his mind up.

According to reports they have found one ‘very good’ replacement and are looking to tour with him should Plant decline the offer. What will that be like? Well, Queen did it without Freddie Mercury, Pink Floyd did it without Roger Waters and The Who did it without Keith Moon and then John Entwhistle so why not? That said I don’t particularly want to listen to Paul Rogers doing Bohemian Rhapsody but if you here one of their latest tracks which is a blues song you can see how good they are together.

So there you go, you might well get to see Led Zeppelin live next year in one way or another.

Just an unsourced piece of bull. They will not tour as Led Zeppelin without Robert, both from a moral and a legal sense. They will wait for him to be done his current tour.

    Angie,
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the blog. There has been countless stories and rumours about this but there is no doubt that Page, Jones and Bonham are rehearsing in the UK. You may well be right but then again there is no guarantee Plant will join them after the tour. He may want a break and will Page wait another year?
    Time will tell.
    Kind regards
    Miles
