I saw Jeff Beck live at Ronnie Scotts on TC recently and was completely amazed ! It's no such much the playing, although it is effortlessly fluid and unique, but the sound he is able to get by using his fingers rather than a pick or plectrum - truly amazing. Eric Clapton joined him on stage at the end and ended p looking very pedestrian when compared to JB. He's not regarded as in the same league as Page,Clapton and Richards etc in the general public's eyes but ask any guitar player, including those I listed, and they'll tell you who is the best !
