Jeff Beck UK Tour Dates 2009
Jeff Beck announces short UK tour……
Legendary axeman Jeff Beck has announced a six concert ‘tour’ in England next year. I say the word tour but it hardly warrants hiring a bus for six dates! This is one musician I would pay good money to go and see, such is his incredible ability. Beck has to be one of if not the most underated guitarists of all time. Coming from the same English background and indeed sharing the same band as Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page he has always shunned the spotlight in favour of playing what he wants when he wants. Cars are more important to him than record deals and good on him!
I recently saw him jam with Tom Jones and it really was something, Jones, along with Van Morrison were blown away by his playing and he is without doubt one of the most respected musicians out there. Here are the dates, if you can’t make it then settle for a copy of his recent live cd at Ronnie Scott’s.
June 2009:
24th Brighton Dome
25th Birmingham Symphony HAll
27th Manchester Apollo
July 2009:
3rd Southampton Guildhall
4th London Royal Albert Hall
Here’s Jeff with the late Stevie Ray Vaughan:

great info many thanks.
I saw Jeff Beck live at Ronnie Scotts on TC recently and was completely amazed !
It’s no such much the playing, although it is effortlessly fluid and unique, but the sound he is able to get by using his fingers rather than a pick or plectrum - truly amazing.
Eric Clapton joined him on stage at the end and ended p looking very pedestrian when compared to JB.
He’s not regarded as in the same league as Page,Clapton and Richards etc in the general public’s eyes but ask any guitar player, including those I listed, and they’ll tell you who is the best !
Cheers

I’ve been on a Beck kick this week. He’s on the top of my iPod list while I run. Don’t think I’ll make those concert dates, though.
