A public information anouncement…
Just a note to say that I shall be taking a break from blogging (well, commenting) for the next four days. There will be posts everyday as usual but these will be posted early each day and I will not be commenting until sunday. Feel free to continue with your comments, I shall reply to them all as soon as I return to my desk.
In case you are wondering I am taking a break from everything that is routine in my life to celebrate my 40th birthday in the time honoured tradition of getting drunk before I give in to Father Time and cups of cocoa and hot water bottles!
Actually, I’m knackered and need a break. It’s time to go off and play with my latest toy, the Canon EF 17-40mm, if the resulting photos on this blog seem a bit panoramic then you know why!

Happy Birthday! I passed that ugly milestone in February. I can’t say I’m proud of the way I handled it, but if I’m alive for 50 we’ll see if I can’t make amends. Enjoy your time off. A pitcher of pre-made Bloody Mary’s (extra spicy) and a small glass of lager can make the morning after 40 a little more tolerable. That and a nap.
