Gummers How

Photographs of Gummers How near Lake Windermere….

Here’s a great place to visit if you ever find yourself in the North West of England. Gummers How can be found high up on Cartmel Fell just off the Newby Bridge to Bowness Upon Windermere road where the road gradually winds upwards to a summit of spectacular views of Lake Windermere and beyond…..

There is much to do and see around here, park up at Astley’s Plantation car park and there are numerous walks close by. At over 1,000 ft above sea level you are treated to some spectacular views depending on your luck with the weather. I took these very quickly as the heaven’s began to open and being more than familiar with a Lakeland shower I knew I couldn’t hang around!

I will post more on this area when I return to the area, it is a great way to showcase the Cumbrian Fells with an incredible view of Morecambe Bay, Scafell Pike, the Old Man of Coniston and many more.

    Miles,
Once again, The Lakes noses in front for being the most beautiful place in Britain. I’m gonna have to share a pic where our day trip found itself inside the cloud base on Christ’s Chair in Cockermouth. The front moved in on us in a matter of minutes but was quite wonderful.

    GDave,
A lovely shot and typical of the Lakes, I shall be posting a couple more over the next day or two myself. It really is a beautiful corner of the world.
