Foie Gras and Pigs Liver

This blogs latest winners and losers…

Foie Gras:

1. Being on holiday when everyone else isn’t.

2. Walks in Chambers Wood with my camera.

3. Lunch with my Godson and his mother; Dover Sole with Razor Clams and Beurre Noisette-Clam Reduction cooked by his father- a revelation in taste and concept.

4. Sponsoring a child who has nothing she wants when I have everything I want.

5. Showing restraint with Canon EF lens purchases-time to stick with what I’ve got!

6. New year, new food style, concepts and wild food a matter of weeks away.

7. Moro East Book, the third in the series, simple Spanish food with North African influences based on their experiences in a London allotment. Look out for tales from Cadiz and their tapas bars in future posts.

8. Parsley root-looks like a parsnip, a taste sensation

Pigs Liver:

1. Going back to work

2. Rain stopping me from going on more walks.

3. Not buying the Canon EF 16-35mm pro lens which I talked myself out of buying-I should know better than to listen to myself.

4. Getting stitched by Deep Purple

5. Bettaware Salesman-last time he knocks on my door

6. Buying Godson a toy fire engine-Migraine!

7. Staff recruitment-nobody wants to cook anymore

8. Having to go to Cadiz to see my oldest and dearest friends now. :(

9. Service engineers-never arrive when they say they will

I could go on but it would turn into a rant. Feel free to post any of your ‘good and bad’s’.

    Sublime:

Yard renovations - sows ear into a silk purse!
Finding a rose distillery in my county via the net and buying rosewater the next day!
    Fresh juice every day
Wages - useful for buying little extras
Shopping in Stamford, always a delight

This Site - too fabulous for words

    Sub-standard:

Work - is gritting your teeth and trying to get through it really worth the effort?
Juicer - pulp definitely not fiction!
    Endless housework and waining enthusiasm
Gales - javelin like bits of tree coming right at you… kindling with attitude :)
Family matters - drain on mental resources

Great lists! Some interesting points there with weather clearly an annoyance at the moment, especially for one person I know who’s polytunnel is currently wrapped around a tree, now that’s wind damage Elsie!
    Thanks for taking part.
