Cyclone in Burma
A devastating cyclone hits Myanmar….
A tropical cyclone hit the country of Myanmar (also known as Burma) today which, according to their state run television has taken the lives of some 350 people and injuring many others.
Yangon, the city formerly known as Rangoon has been badly hit, house roofs have been blown off and much of the city is without water and electricity with four other regions being declared disaster zones.
Hopefully the ruling military government will show another side to its aggresive attitude towards its people and allow external help in what is sure to be an ongoing humanitarian crisis.
My thoughts are with those poor people and in particular a young girl living 20km from the centre of the storm.

I hope she is alright !
Sometimes you just wonder how people keep carrying on.

Rod,
Yes I hope she isn’t affected, if being so poor isn’t punishment enough…..

Miles,
We are so lucky in this country on the whole. I know that there have been floods but it is not something that we all experience on a more regular basis.
Your heart just goes out to these poor people and fingers crossed the little girl is o.k.
