Blackmore’s Rainbow Reform
New Rainbow line up announced…..kind of!
Rainbow, formed by legendary ex Deep Purple guitarist Richie Blackmore are reforming in a strange kind of way. Sadly the new line up will not feature Blackmore snr but it will feature Blackmore jnr! Yes, Richie Blackmore’s son Jurgen will join former Rainbow members Joe Lyn Turner on vocals, Bobby Rondinelli on drums, veteren keyboard player Tony Carey and bass player Gregg Smith.
The band will go on tour in Russia during february 2009 under the name ‘Over the Rainbow’ and I am guessing it will feature songs from the albums which the above have played on. This will mean some classic stuff from Rainbow Rising, Long Live Rock n Roll and Straight Between the Eyes. How good young Blackmore is waits to be seen but it should attract some moderate interest if nothing else.
Would I go and see them? Doubt it

I’d pass on tickets to this one - unless they were playing the local pub - which they very well may end up doing !
