Beach Essentials
iPhone diary gets a spade and bucket..
I love this sign. This year I have really discovered the beauty of visiting seaside towns out of season. For the photography enthusiast it’s a must. My brother and I have enjoyed many a ramble through coastal towns close to where we live and it has been a revelation.
What is evident is the sense of optimism in some of the shop and restaurant names, a desire to make something sound exotic when in reality it really isn’t. But you know what? If they could just get it right then it could be brilliant, really brilliant but I’m afraid more often than not, it just isn’t.
So what’s the answer? Investment? It’s easy to throw good money after bad but what it needs above all else is imagination and a sense of purpose. Someone with foresight who can encourage indirect investment as well as government funds. The history is there for all to see but it’s slowly getting smothered by modern atrocities and a changing social climate that’s happening before our very eyes.

The background colours don’t help here though do they. There’s even an unused hook to have something hanginging attractively (or maybe it’s taken in during closure times because of vandalism ) . No kerb appeal and needs a ‘woman’s touch ‘ perhaps.
