Bad Company Reform
Bad Company to play live in 2008
Legendary rock supergroup Bad Company are to reform for a one off concert. Lead singer and current replacement for Freddie Mercury in Queen, Paul Rodgers has reformed the 70’s group in a bid to prevent other bands from using the Bad Company name.
Reuniting with Simon Kirke and Mick Ralphs for a concert in Hollywood Rodgers is determined to prevent anyone from ‘misleading their fans’ by playing under the band’s name. Whilst it’s admirable he is so concerned about his fans the sceptics out there would say money would be the driving reason. Once the concert has been played the band can say in a court of law that they are still an active band, indeed Ralphs intends to take a version out on the road next year. Whilst Mick plays down the billing at some biker show Paul will be raking it in with Brian May and the boys from Queen.
Before any die hard fans slag me off I would point out that I have been an album purchasing fan of Bad Company for some twenty six years. I just don’t care for the hypocrisy.

I think you’re right !
After all how can somebody play under the bands name ?
They own the rights to it - nobody can do that unless they let them !
As you say, he’s having a second wind with the Queen publicity and good luck to him he’s one of the greatest rock singers of all time but why not just say it like it is …

Rod,
That’s it. I can understand Kirke and Ralphs being concerned about royalties and the like but Rodgers must be well set up from Free album sales alone never mind a wage packet from Queen.
