Alternative Portrait Photography
Looking at different ways to shoot portraits..
I like portrait photography but it has to be something a bit different to grab my attention. A straight on shot of a beautiful woman is just that, a beautiful woman. Some of the real greats of fashion photography experimented with distances, lighting, props etc and made for some very interesting photography. I’ve been back in the gym tonight, a shoot for a project I am working on which requires specific shots which detail correct posture and form so artistic images were not on the agenda.
It’s not easy photographing in a gym, the shots I take are not staged, if you don’t get the shot then tough. The guys I photograph lift heavy weights and so to stand there looking like a male model whilst lifting a 50kg dumbell isn’t going to happen. Every now and then though I get the opportunity to grab an off moment shot, an image which captures a moment and I think this one does. It was a great shoot, a hard session but we had some fun along the way..
We don’t mind if you do actually photograph male models occasionally though MIles. Any time you want to, we will tolerate that. In order to support you of course
