A Week in Pictures
A pictorial diary…
Of the photographs I put on here there are literally hundreds discarded for not being ‘right’. That might mean not good enough or it might mean it wouldn’t be relevant to the blog. I do keep a lot which do not make it to this site because they serve as a reminder of enjoyable moments in my life and sometimes a snapshot is really just fine. So with that in mind I shall be introducing a new feature which is nothing more than random snapshots taken by myself for no other reason than I liked the subject.
These will be ‘raw’ shots of varying subjects and the amount of photos and their topics will very much depend on the week I’ve had. If I don’t get a day off for two weeks then chances are they’ll be kitchen related, if I do then you can bet your house there’ll be some outdoor stuff. So here’s the start of a scrapbook….
Not quite the destruction of the Amazon rain forest but the work of the Forestry Commision….

Tree Felling in Lincolnshire
An overcast morning but it’s still a hell of a feat of engineering whatever the weather…

The Humber Bridge
I like the contour of the fence on this, the seagull is an added bonus…

Gull on a Fence
A glorious late summer’s day, perfect sky and perfect church. A wonderful escape from the hurly burly of modern life…

Lincolnshire Church

Stained Glass Window

Rod,
I like this idea - nice to see a few different pictures.
I particularly like the tree felling one
Looking forward to more
All the best

Miles,
A great selection of shots. They all offer something special. I agree with the fence image but love the seagull with it.
The church would make a perfect picture postcard. The treefelling one is a bit of a surprise in rural Lincolnshire, well captured.

Miles,
This is a great idea. It’ll be so interesting to seeing your weeks in pictures. Lovely selection above, but I’ve got to jump on the tree felling bandwagon. Quite excellent!

Miles,
We could have a ‘week in the life of’ a busy head chef, which might include various facial expressions…. hardly a need for words
For the record I’m drawn to the stained glass of course and the simple fence with bird composition…. in fact all of them really.
That’s the thumbs up Miles, we all want to see more pictures.

Miles,
Addendum ….. now don’t get too excited but I’m breaking the news here…. I’ve got a fledgling butternut squash in the garden!!! Yes I can hardly believe it but there it is and every day I take a peek into the undergrowth to make sure it’s still thriving, like a mother hen
Don’t celebrate too early Miles, it’s not a done deal until it’s baked and on my plate!

Miles,
Once again you (and your adventurer brother) have provided inspiration. Fearing that they will be boring, I think I shall try your exercise myself. Nothing like a good kick in the imagination to get one moving.
Thanks to you both,
Annie

All,
Glad you like the idea, it makes a bit of a change for me too, I ‘do’ food all day for a living so it’s a welcome break at times.

Wow, these are very impressive. I love this idea and your photography skills are top notch and brilliantly displayed here.
Hmmm? I was going to pick a favorite, but I can’t. They’re all wonderful, Miles! Keep them coming.
