A New and Original Album by Jimi Hendrix
New material set to be released by the original guitar hero
News has filtered through that an album recorded by Jimi Hendrix with Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young fame has been discovered by Stills himself whilst trawling through some long forgotten tapes.
Fellow band member Graham Nash has said that Stills used to record hours of studio sessions in the late sixties and early seventies and as a result of going through these many recordings has come across these Hendrix tapes.
Apparently the recordings were made shortly before his death circa 1970, this would make for interesting listening as many artists who knew Hendrix said that he was interested in following a more jazz-rock style of music made popular by the likes of John McLaughlin’s Mahavishnu Orchestra and Stanley Clarke’s Return to Forever bands. As CSN&Y were very much an American folk/rock group I would be very interested to hear the outcome of their collaboration.
According to Nash his fellow bandmate is working on the tapes now, as soon as I hear of any release dates I shall post them forthwith. In the meantime here’s some classic Jimi…..

it’s staggering to think tht things like this can still turn up.
It also makes you wonder, given the random nature of it, how uch has been lost !

Rod,
That’s what I thought. For most of us the idea of having made a recording with Hendrix and then forgotten about it would seem incredible.

Miles,
I like that! Can you play this on your guitar? I shall now have visions of a quiet day in the kitchen …. head chef perched on the worktop strumming a bluesy number while the chefs go about their chores with effortless style…. your brother in the corner serving up sausage and pasta bake. Imagination is the spice of life

Cid,
You’d need a hell of an imagination to envisage a quiet day in my kitchen. Your timing as ever is impeccable!
